A Small (Re)treat

Thursday, I was able to visit some Michigan beaches after all! My farm friend graciously picked me up and drove us both to Grand Haven Wednesday night.

It was only supposed to be a 3-hour drive, but there was a detour along the way and we got lost for about 1.5 hours. The view was nice though so we didn’t mind.

By the time we reached Grand Haven, it was about 8 PM and we were ravenous. My phone also died so there aren’t that many photos from that night.

But there are plenty from Thursday! Grand Haven is a beautiful place.

The waves were particularly high that day.

Of course, I had to get ice cream. The ice cream culture near any beach is huge.

We tried chilling at the beach even though the weather defied the predictions of being 80 degrees and was only 60. Nothing I haven’t done before… beaches just don’t like me I guess.

And I picked up my first batch of Michigan cherries (6 pounds). What can I say? I love cherries. And now I can’t go back. They are so delicious. Oh my god.

Cherry convert.

Yeah, getting lost is a great adventure… until you hit the wall and start wanting to actually GET SOMEWHERE.

It is absolutely freezing right now in Melbourne, and all I am craving is mint chocolate chip ice cream. Since I was a kid, that has always been my favourite flavour! Glad to see your cramming in as much antics before you jet off!

There is no temperature limit for ice cream! I’m on day 3 of this juice cleanse (don’t do it.) and I’m freezing and all I want is a big fat scoop of ice cream!
