November Recap | December Goals

November Recap

November to me was a transitional month.

It was one where I returned home from yet another road trip and buckled down in many ways. From what I said last month, I really wanted to focus on my fitness and financials—the 2 F’s, if you will.

I worked on my fitness

Being on the road for the first 2 weeks of November made it a bit difficult for me to work on fitness. In some ways, I went completely in the opposite direction and ate my way to Dallas. In other ways, I made improvements in my mindset on how I want to approach this for the next few months.

I went from not being able to run 10 minutes without feeling like dying to running 2 miles almost comfortably yesterday as my “long run.” This makes me think of my high school days when I would run 2 miles daily and have 5 mile long-run days.

All-in-all, I’ve lost 4 pounds since mid-November!

I worked… period

With my financials, I landed a temp assignment in the city, which taught me a lot about the commuter life and trying to balance everything I wanted to do with the little hours I had left in the day after work. I also dabbled in being an Uber driver.

Right now, I’m trying to decide what direction I want to go in regarding my professional life. The problem isn’t that I don’t have options, the problem is that there are two clear paths and that the choice is up to me. Scary, how adult life is sometimes, isn’t it?

I rearranged my room

In other news, I rearranged my room and now it’s so cozy that I never want to leave it! Photos coming soon once I get all the trash out of the way.

I did not date

Ok, so I royally dropped the ball on this one. Oops!

December Goals

I’ve decided that my goals need to be more specific.

  • lose 5-6 pounds
  • increase mileage to 3 miles
  • save $1000
  • read 4 books
  • rebrand the blog!
  • be more involved in the blog community—sorry I haven’t been recently!

    Hey Michelle,

You’ve been soooo busy. I don’t think I can catch up! But, wow, what an adventure and look at you doing the big girl thing and having goals and shit. Ug. I suppose I should muster some up, too. Boooo! I don’t wanna! Just wanna binge watch the all 5 seasons of Game of Thones so I’m super ready for season 6th’s premiere! Hahahhaa.

Haha it doesn’t feel like it! But I guess I’m still continuing on with the momentum from this summer :) LOL goals. Not a big girl until they’re accomplished! I’m always start and stop with GoT!! Last time I watched, I was able to push through the second season but now I’m stuck at season 3! Haha, I guess I can make it another goal to finish it up ;)

Running two miles is something! Good luck for upping it to 3! Our routine exercise kind of fell out the window. We stopped running as it’s too dark and cold after work so we decided to cycle to and from work instead, and then someone stole Kris’s bike. So we’re back to bus-ing it every day and not running – dammn I feel sluggish this last month. But we’re off to NY in a week, so I’ll be back to getting plenty of travel exercise in and then we need to buy a new bike!

Thanks, Kerri :) Yeah, the early sunsets are killing me here. I need some of that summer feeling back!! Otherwise I’m too content just chilling in bed and reading or binging some show. Travel exercise is one of the best things ever :)

Well done with the running! I am always trying to exercise more but I haven’t found the right form of exercise yet I guess!

You’ve been up to a whole lot! Busy busy bee! So jealous that you got to do the hike in Angel’s Landing! I didn’t have time when I was in Zion and I definitely want to go back and do it. It’s a really good idea to set some specific goals and try to meet them. Lately I think I’ve just been setting too many for myself and then I get overwhelmed and caught up in them all. Going to take your lead and try to minimize and prioritize. Also, can’t wait to see the blog rebranding!! :D

It’s going to be hard to slow down once January hits!! You HAVE TO try that hike the next time you’re in Zion!!! And be in Zion in general. Utah is such a great geographical place :)
And I totally get how you feel on the goal setting. Especially when I was starting out, if I had too many on my plate, it’s just easier to lie in bed and do absolutely nothing.
      Hopefully the rebranding goes well!

2 miles is good! I’m pretty sure I can’t even run for 5 minutes. Week after week, I tell myself to get back to exercising (at least yoga) but I have yet to. Snuggling in bed is a much better alternative!

I can’t wait to see the blog rebrand! I feel like mine needs one too, but I haven’t figured out exactly what direction I want to go in.

Hahaha don’t know how I am on running after December though. A lot of traveling coming up! Totally agree on the snuggling in bed—how can any other activity compete??

Yeah, I want to rebrand but I can’t exactly seem to commit. It’s a lot of work but also… I’m scared that I pick something I won’t stick with! Can’t wait to see what direction you take yours :)

Good for you on the fitness issue! In December I started going to crossfit once a week and I couldn’t walk for like 4 days after the first session – worst day ever – but it did feel great all at once! Definitely a goal to keep it up in the new year as well! Also running 2 miles is very good! And work is so hard – I’m also in between two choices, though I’m just pursuing both at once and the first one that gives me a job might be the one I commit to! Who knows! I may be deported in 8 months so I guess we’ll see lol Hope your December went well xx

Congrats on starting crossfit!! I know so many people who are really into it and have a HUGE amount of success with it. No matter what, anything is better than something :D

Hahaha, hopefully you’re not deported! But it’s always great to have a bunch of options for you to pursue. Hope you had a wonderful new years!
