March Recap | April Goals

I’ve always liked the Weekly Wishes link up, but honestly that’s too micro for me. Instead, I created this new thing where I do a post/life roundup as well as a look forward into the upcoming month. We’ll see how this goes.

I know that as a blogger, I already do so many recaps. But I like reading and writing them, so I’m going to do more of them! It’s a great way to keep myself accountable, I think, and being able to look back on a month within one post is awesome.

March Recap

Man, it really feels like March flew by, doesn’t it? On the blog, I feel like I’m getting to be more on top of things, consistently. I’ve cursed you with my consistent presence! Bwaha.

Psst, Kelly, figured out the gallery ;)

Off the Blog

This March was a quickie, but so many things happened that my flashback would need a day to pass before my eyes… wait, no. That’s not how it works. That only happens when you’re dying. But I think we can all grasp the metaphor there.

I experienced many new things: the Houston Rodeo, SXSW, an appropriate-length trip to San Francisco, a new opportunity (hopefully). Things that keep this blog alive.
I also re-experienced some things: seeing Stromae, being surprised at my credit card statement, failing yet again to stick to a fitness routing. The same old, you know?

I think most of all, though, I felt grateful this month. Grateful for how fluid and surprising life can be, how I have the means to travel, how surprisingly free a film and music festival was—experiencing things I haven’t felt in a while. What comes with amazing periods like this, however, is the predictable downs that I experience when things aren’t moving as fast.

Since I want to end this brief summary on a high note, I’ll share with you some FANTASTIC news I received recently! I got a summer job! Wait, Michelle, aren’t summer jobs for students? Yes, and the perpetually aimless (me), but wait till you hear what it is! … talk more about this later :)

This is what it feels like to leave people hanging, Lani.

April Goals

To continue off of last month’s feels, I’m hoping for as much action in April!

Time Management

I’ve been tinkering with a new weekly streamlining so that I can maximize time to myself… which can unfortunately mean a weaker presence in the blog world until Sunday rolls around and I turn into Iron Man, demolishing comments on other blogs! (By demolishing, I mean distributing).

Seriously, Michelle? Why do you even bother putting this on here—ugh, I’m not going to stop you. Just know that it’s not going to happen, you naive fool.

Work out ALL THE DAYS! Running 3x/week, yoga 2x/week. I recently went back to an ultimate frisbee pick-up game that some coworkers and I regularly do, and at one point in the 85 degree sun, I knew my eyes were open, but I couldn’t see.

Pushing my boundaries

In light of the new job, I’m going to have to start pushing my boundaries. What does this mean? Doing something that makes me mildly uncomfortable at least once a week! I was talking about this with a friend today and we both feel like we’ve been in a bit of a comfort rut. That’s what a full travel stop looks like.

How was your March? And what are you looking forward to in April?

Congrats on the summer job! March has been all errands for us… with food involved somewhere :) April, I’ve no idea. I think, we might be going to The Netherlands :)

    • Michelle @ Mishfish13

Thanks, lady! Haha oof, I hate months like that. Food with a side of errands, I say! Exciting :)) Haven’t you been planning this for a while? :D

      • Kerri

Yup, that stupid museum that only opens on weekdays, that we’ve been trying to go to. Turns out, we’re going in may, so April is still without plans…

        • Michelle @ Mishfish13

Hahaha, what museum is this? Something quite special, I’m hoping!

          • Kerri

It’s a medical museum :) Apparently they have some interesting/creepy things. It’s called the Vrolic museum.

          • Michelle @ Mishfish13

Ooh! I’ve always wanted to visit a medical museum. I get fascinated, but also creeped out, by old medical practices haha.

Now I’m dying to know what your summer job is!! Good luck with working out this next month! That’s one of my goals too. I need to get back to doing it consistently!

    • Michelle @ Mishfish13

Teehee :) thanks, I seriously need that encouragement haha. In my mind, I’m a fit person. But when I try to actually do something, I realize I’m not at all.

  • Kelly

Nice gallery ;) And so curious about your summer job! Oh fitness. I really need to try doing anything soon. . .

    • Michelle @ Mishfish13

Learned from the best ;) haha, exactly how I feel on the subject… sigh.

  • Christine | A Keane Sense

Awe how did you like SXSW?! And congrats on the job! I can’t wait to head to Austin and surrounding areas soon and through summer!

    • Michelle @ Mishfish13

Thanks, Christine! I loved SXSW… but wouldn’t have been able to do it all! Thanks :)
Tell me the next time you’re in Austin!

  • Melanie Fontaine

Oh yeah, Fitness is something that I’ve been meaning to get into again as well… one day… I’m curious about your summer job! Dare I hope it will bring you closer to Europe again? ;) Good luck with your goals! :)

    • Michelle @ Mishfish13

Haha I won’t lead you on about that… unfortunately it doesn’t bring me closer to Europe at all :( Financially, yes? Does that count haha.

  • Marianne

I’m all about roundup posts, so keep ‘em coming – the more the merrier!
Your March was so much more interesting than mine! Man I can’t believe it’s already April.
I hate when people leave me hanging. Jerk. I want to know what your new job is!

    • Michelle @ Mishfish13

Phew, good. I was thinking that it was another dud haha. I kNOW. Is this what adulthood is like? Just months slipping by? Hahah.
      Soon :)

  • Holly Hollyson

Urm, why do you have to keep us hanging like that lady? I wanna know!!! My March was good. Hoping April brings my work permit!

    • Michelle @ Mishfish13

Haha oops :x I won’t leave you hanging for long!! Ooh, hoping the best to you, Holly!!

  • Lani

Hahaha. Well played, Michelle, well played. I guess I’ll have to just sit on my haunches and wait for the big announcement. Ice cream tester? Pole dancer? Big rig racer? Too many possibilities. How long do I have to wait?

    • Michelle @ Mishfish13

Bahaha! Aw man, ice cream tester would’ve been way cooler. Ice cream dancer, pole tester? Hahaha. Not too long, I’m basically bursting with the news! How long do *I* have to wait??

  • Aryn (Driftwood & Daydreams)

My March was so blah but at least I got back to blogging more regularly! Can’t wait to hear about your new job!

    • Michelle @ Mishfish13

Yeah! I’ve been seeing your stuff pop up more and more often! :) Yayy

  • Courtney @ Adelante

Congrats on getting a summer job! I can’t wait to hear more about it! The “potentially something AWESOME” blurb on your sidebar is killin’ me with suspense.

Also, SO COOL that you got to go to SXSW!

    • Michelle @ Mishfish13

      Thanks, Courtney :))

Yeah, I recommend SXSW for anyone at least once!! It was a BLAST.

  • montanitavacationrentals

March was a busy month, but I got so much done! These are my goals for April. I hope to have another productive month. I have recently visited Montanita Luxury Hotels

  • Diana

Good luck with completing your April goals!

    • Michelle @ Mishfish13

      Thanks, Diana :)

  • Camila @ AdventitiousViolet

I’ve had so much to catch up on recently!! haha love the fitness section – even though your motivation is making me want to hit myself lol I did 20 push ups like last week…it’s basically the same ;)

    • Michelle @ Mishfish13

Haha I’m definitely impressed at how many you managed to catch up on! 20 pushups is better than my 2 ;)
