I’ve always liked the Weekly Wishes link up, but honestly that’s too micro for me. Instead, I created this new thing where I do a post/life roundup as well as a look forward into the upcoming month. We’ll see how this goes.
I know that as a blogger, I already do so many recaps. But I like reading and writing them, so I’m going to do more of them! It’s a great way to keep myself accountable, I think, and being able to look back on a month within one post is awesome.
Man, it really feels like March flew by, doesn’t it? On the blog, I feel like I’m getting to be more on top of things, consistently. I’ve cursed you with my consistent presence! Bwaha.
Psst, Kelly, figured out the gallery
Off the Blog
This March was a quickie, but so many things happened that my flashback would need a day to pass before my eyes… wait, no. That’s not how it works. That only happens when you’re dying. But I think we can all grasp the metaphor there.
I experienced many new things: the Houston Rodeo, SXSW, an appropriate-length trip to San Francisco, a new opportunity (hopefully). Things that keep this blog alive.
I also re-experienced some things: seeing Stromae, being surprised at my credit card statement, failing yet again to stick to a fitness routing. The same old, you know?
I think most of all, though, I felt grateful this month. Grateful for how fluid and surprising life can be, how I have the means to travel, how surprisingly free a film and music festival was—experiencing things I haven’t felt in a while. What comes with amazing periods like this, however, is the predictable downs that I experience when things aren’t moving as fast.
Since I want to end this brief summary on a high note, I’ll share with you some FANTASTIC news I received recently! I got a summer job! Wait, Michelle, aren’t summer jobs for students? Yes, and the perpetually aimless (me), but wait till you hear what it is! … talk more about this later
This is what it feels like to leave people hanging, Lani.
To continue off of last month’s feels, I’m hoping for as much action in April!
I’ve been tinkering with a new weekly streamlining so that I can maximize time to myself… which can unfortunately mean a weaker presence in the blog world until Sunday rolls around and I turn into Iron Man, demolishing comments on other blogs! (By demolishing, I mean distributing).
Seriously, Michelle? Why do you even bother putting this on here—ugh, I’m not going to stop you. Just know that it’s not going to happen, you naive fool.
Work out ALL THE DAYS! Running 3x/week, yoga 2x/week. I recently went back to an ultimate frisbee pick-up game that some coworkers and I regularly do, and at one point in the 85 degree sun, I knew my eyes were open, but I couldn’t see.
Pushing my boundaries
In light of the new job, I’m going to have to start pushing my boundaries. What does this mean? Doing something that makes me mildly uncomfortable at least once a week! I was talking about this with a friend today and we both feel like we’ve been in a bit of a comfort rut. That’s what a full travel stop looks like.
How was your March? And what are you looking forward to in April?
